Stephen King’s 1408

The film 1408 is based on a short story of Stephen King of the same title. I watched it with my colleague slash movie buddy. Even though I was discouraged by my sister to watch the film, I still watched it because I want to see how scary it is. 😀 This is not the type of movie that will scare you because of horrifying images. It will scare you because of paranoia.

Unlike other horror movies, this one is quite unpredictable. It’s like your eyes are glued to the screen even if you wanted to close it for there’s something that might happen that could scare the hell out of you.

To give you a brief background of the film, 1408 is not a year. It is a certain hotel room in Dolphin Hotel, New York City. Mike Enslin (portrayed by John Cusack) is a paranormal writer and he decided to stay in the hotel room even if he’s already warned by the hotel manager (portrayed by Samuel Jackson). The rumors that have been told about this hotel room were proven during his brief stay there.
