Fast Forward in Saguijo

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Saguijo to catch a gig. It’s great to see Ristalle of Duster there (thanks Ristalle for the beer stubs! :D) and also Doki Puno (Sha’s friend. Doki is the vocalist of the band “Doki”. Obviously, it was named after her. 😀

We arrived there early and we weren’t expecting a lot of people there since most were probably in NBC tent for the Kings of Convenience concert.

Monsterbot

Monsterbot in Saguijo - 6

The last time I saw them perform was at Rock the Riles (MRT Shaw Station). Diego Mapa was not there though. Their last studio album was Rhomboids and I do hope they release a new one soon. 😀 I would love to see them perform live with the synths. 🙂

Tiny Cactus

Tiny Cactus in Saguijo - 10

It was my first time to watch them live and they were also incomplete that night. Tiny Cactus is an independent alternative band. The band is composed of: Kaka Contreras, Justin Talusan, TJ Talusan, Mark Benedict Uy and Aaron Talusan.

Clap

Clap at Saguijo - 1

Clap, another band included in the Fast Forward line up that night, is very new to me. Anyway, after doing a little research, I learned that they joined a couple of band competitions. One of those competitions is Nescafe Soundskool. Their music is something in between jazz and funk.

The Brew

The Brew at Saguijo - 3

The Brew has been around for a long time and it’s been a while since I’ve seen them perform live. I think the last time I saw them perform live was in UP. Their bassist Jody Salas was not there in Saguijo. Check out their website so you can hear some of their songs. 🙂

Chubibo

Chubibo in Saguijo - 7

Finally, I was able to catch Chubibo live. And yes, it’s my first time to see them in Saguijo. I still hope to get a copy of their album “Rawr!”.

Layag

Layag at Saguijo - 2

Layag is the second female-fronted band that performed that night. The band sort of reminded me of Chillitees though I like the Chillitees better.

Doki

Doki at Saguijo - 8

It’s our first time to see Doki sing in her band. Me and Sha are both excited since we only got to see her sing in Rockeoke. Of course, her performance level with her band “Doki” is way better when we watched her sing one song in Rockeoke.

Flicker Fusion was the last band to perform and I was not able to watch their performance in Saguijo since we need to get home.
