The task
The task is to visit five tourist attractions in one day starting at 1pm.The deadline for accomplishing such task is 6pm and the condition is for us not to ride a taxi going to the destinations.

Preparation

Via Fuente Osmena, we first went to National Bookstore to look at the map of Cebu and identified five tourist attractions that are near to each other. I was even tempted to buy the map but because of budget constraints, I did not buy one.

The Adventure
First stop is Basilica de Sto. Nino. Basilica de Sto. Nino is located at Downtown, Cebu City. We rode a multi cab going there. This is a must-see for devotees of Sto. Nino and for art enthusiasts. Next stop is Magellan’s Cross. This is just a few meters away from Basilica de Sto. Nino. Inside the shrine, you will see old ladies dressed in red chanting prayers while dancing and holding a red candle. Then, we went to Cebu Cathedral which is a block or two away from Basilica de Sto. Nino. One of the maintenance staff of the church opened the light for us so that we could take a picture of a painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Then, we visited Fort San Pedro which is like a minute version of Intramuros. This is located at the historical Colon Street. There is a museum inside housing old jars and plates. Finally, we visited the Taoist Temple located at Beverly Hills Subdivision. We went there by taking a multi-cab to Lahug and rode a motorcycle (habal-habal) up to the gate of Beverly Hills. From there, we walked until we reached the gate of the Taoist Temple and walked towards the stairs until we reached the top. At the top of the Taoist Temple is a magnificent view of Cebu City. We finished the task even before sunset and it was truly a rewarding experience.

A hundred-centavo question
Am I holding the end of the fishing rod? Or is it one of those optical illusions? Hehehe!
