Vocalist of Zoo

I arrived their early eager to see the bands perform in the Man Blog event dubbed as The Banana Gangbang Rock Festival. The previously announced band line up was cut down to 5 for some reasons. Most of the bands performed were TMB Bands such as Zoo, Tempestuous, Lose your beer belly and Marco Palinar (who’s supposed to play with Sanity Kit but went on a solo act instead. One non-TMB band was able to make it that night and that was Mannequin (managed by Julius Rocas). (more…)

Cambio

Last Thursday, me and Sha unexpectedly spotted a Cambio gig at Podium (just outside UCC) that just started. There were only a few people there. If I’m not mistaken, they played around 8 songs from their new album Cambiomatic (played all songs in acoustic). Raymund Marasigan was not there. It was nice to see them at a gig after a long time. We were able to watch them last year (some time in December) just outside the Glorietta 4 entrance. More pictures of Cambio here.

Banana Gangbang Rock festival

This is the most awaited music event in The Man Blog history! It will be held on May 3, 2008 (this Saturday) at Bela Bar, Greenhills. And if you haven’t been there, take a look at this map. It will save you from trouble, believe me. :D (more…)

Paramita

It was great to see Ria Bautista, Alsey Cortez and Marco de Leon, all from Paramita, perform again since the last time that I saw them was 2007 in one of their mag:net Bonifacio High Street gigs. The album launch is the second leg of the two-part series where the first one was held in Route 196 which Rain Contreras covered. (more…)

Smiling Ely Buendia

I was at the MTV Sessions earlier and after a long time, I was able to watch Pupil again. :D The mini-concert was not really shot live. In fact, they have to play the songs “Matador” and “Animal Lover” again since the MTV guys weren’t able to shoot it. :D (more…)

I was at the JolliTV Launch and I haven’t had my picture taken with Jollibee and the other mascots that had a costume make-over. It’s sad that Champ (the boxer with an oversized head) was not there. Yum was there though and he has a geeky and a techie personality. (more…)

Narda Reunion Gig

Last Thursday, I went to Narda’s reunion gig with Ivan, Baby, and Sha. We were supposed to meet Rain somewhere in Makati before going to Saguijo. Instead, Rain went to Saguijo directly. Rain told me that the organizers were worried that there’ll be a few people who might be able to show up in the gig. However, I was confident that it was not bound to happen since it is Narda’s reunion gig and also because of the solid line-up (Ang Bandang Shirley, Taken by Cars, Us-2 Evil-0 and Pedicab. :D (more…)

Ria Bautista of Paramita announced in the Yahoo Groups that the album launch is due this April 4 (at Route 196 - along Katipunan Ave.) and April 5 (at Saguijo - along Guijo St. in Makati). And yes, this is good news. :D It has been almost 3 years since they’ve released Tala, their debut album, and it is indeed high time to release the next one. I’d be definitely going to the April 5th schedule since it’s a lot nearer to Paranaque. :D
