And so even after my brother loaded the Sony MP3 player with 1.5GB worth of pure emo music, he exchanged it with Sandisk’s Sansa e260 MP3 Player. I was able to get my hands on it last night. When I checked the mp3s loaded, it’s not pure emo music and so, I erased it and replaced it with 300 tracks.

Obviously, it looks like an iPod Nano. It also has a scroll wheel but the difference lies in the technology behind them. In your typical genuine iPod, the scroll wheel can only be controlled by humans. Try using a plastic to scroll around your iPod and you would notice that it won’t move. This was demonstrated to me by my officemate earlier.

Aside from having the capacity to play and store, music, videos and view and store photos, you can also listen to FM radio. Aside from this, there is a memory expansion slot (MicroSD). Thus, if you feel like storing more data, just get yourself a MicroSD. It also has a built-in voice recorder and on-the-fly FM recording. I tested the recorder yesterday and the file format of its output is WAV format. I’ll just have to test the voice recorder though . I have to check if it’s good enough for podcasting .

I’ve been looking for an iPod alternative that has the scroll wheel. I thought there were none (because of patent issue???). Thanks for informing us about Sansa. I’ll try to canvass for one.
