As defined in Dictionary.com, swerving is to turn aside abruptly in movement or direction; deviate suddenly from the straight or direct course. And since it’s already December and Christmas is getting near, it is most likely that you would be stopped by an MMDA and will charge you for swerving. From the LTO website, I’ve read the traffic violations there and I did not see swerving in the list. Based on this discussion, changing of lanes is already considered swerving to them. If that’s the case, all motorists would have been charged of swerving already since some would have to change lanes to get to their destination. I’ve also read from the discussion that one of the members there just followed the arrow and was charged swerving for following that arrow. This is the case where the motorists are misinformed and when they are misinformed, they will have higher chances of getting corrupted by the enforcers.
TIP #1: Print a copy of LTO’s fines and penalties from their website. Keep it in your car. It may come handy when you are being charged of some law that may be non-existent.
TIP #2: Be assertive in dealing with them. Don’t show the money at once and don’t hand them your license unless you really did something that is against the law.
TIP #3: Be conscious of the road signs. If there are not enough road signs to give you ample information, reason out that you’re quite new in the area and that there are not enough road signs.

Pastel’s yema-filled buns are indeed a treat and are made in the island of Camiguin by VjANDEP Bakeshop. They also have branches in Cagayan de Oro City for those who can’t make it to the island. Pastel buns are sold in boxes of 12. Aside from yema, other flavors are cheese, langka, macapuno, mango, pineapple, and ube. Other flavors that are available only through special orders are durian, guava, strawberry, chocolate and special yema. These buns may look ordinary. However, eating these yema-filled buns can be very addicting. Hehehe!

I received an Archer mug from the SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) DLSU Chapter just last Monday. I was there together with my colleagues for a seminar and also for the MEM Week. I did a technical presentation of Autodesk Inventor’s Functional design while my other colleague presented ZCorp’s 3D Printer.
In this obviously-titled Christmas film, Steve Finch (Matthew Broderick) tries to put out the distracting Christmas lights put up by his neighbor Buddy Hall (Danny de Vito). In the end, Steve helps Buddy to accomplish his objective, and that is to have his house seen from outer space. Although the film is somewhat traditional and quite predictable, the Christmas lights on Buddy’s house never failed to amuse me. The lights that were used according to this trivia are not the traditional Christmas lights that we use. The lights that were used are programmable LEDs just like the LED display in front of DLSU Manila.
Aside from the Christmas lights, the cast have amused me as well. You should see the look on Steve and Buddy’s face when they realized that it was their daughters whom they were hooting and yelling at. Hehehe. They overreacted in a way that they even went to a nearby chapel and washed their faces with holy water.
This film is highly recommended for the family and for also those who want something funny as well.

If typhoon Reming could speak to people of Metro Manila, he would have told us “Got you there!”. After hearing the news that Reming changed the course I could hear the echoing voices of the students “Got you there!”. Even though there’s a presence of strong winds yesterday, it is still incomparable with the havoc that Milenyo brought us. For some weird reason, a brownout occurred here in Better Living and to our surprise, the telephone line was off too. It came back after an hour or so. I guess they panicked too much. I’m still thankful though that the typhoon changed its course.
