In this photo, I’m holding an authentic Hasselblad film camera (medium format). It is an old school camera that most photographers use for fashion magazines. Its viewfinder is situated on the top which is quite unusual for cameras. The good thing about this is that the viewfinder is big which gives you a better view of your subject. And if you will ask me who is the owner of this camera, I’m sorry but I cannot disclose information. It is a top secret. Hehehe. This photo was taken by Jared in front of Merlion, Singapore’s symbol of tourism. After our photo session there, we had a late dinner on a food court in Singapore.

I was at 7-11 just in front of Hotel81 at Bencoolen St when I saw Singaporean chocolates being sold there last Monday. Since I had the time earlier, I asked Melvin where I can buy chocolates that are relatively cheap. So, he mentioned about Mustafa Centre at Little India. I took a cab going there since I still have to prepare for my mock demo tomorrow and I have no time to check the Street Directory website. Mustafa Centre is much like of a grocery store selling various things from watches to pens and from bags to chocolates. There are also a lot of “pasalubong stuff” there like t-shirts, keychains and magnets with the country Singapore written all over it. By the way, this establishment is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hehehe!
Accidents happen

I just cannot believe the email that I’ve read awhile ago. I’m here at an Internet shop at Singapore, just a few steps from the hotel. It’s about my cousin Audrey, her husband Damien and their child. They had a car accident at around 12:30 am last Sunday (PST) on their way home. The car fell of an enbankment and burned. All of them died. When I was 14 years old, that was the first and the last time that I got the chance to hang out with Audrey. She brought me some place where we could play mini golf and we ate out like pigs even if our stomach was full already. I was hoping to meet Audrey and her family by the time I will go to US for a vacation before my US Visa will expire. Unfortunately, that would not happen anymore. All that I will get to see there are their pictures showing how happy they were when they’re still alive.
I know that this would hurt Tito Burt, Tita Yolly and Kevin because Audrey has always been really sweet. To Audrey and family, we will surely miss you.
My New Toy

Finally, I’ve got my newest toy. It has been a year or so since I first drooled on this camera. When I got a chance to hold Abe’s (YugaTech) Canon EOS 350D at BlogCon, I was all the more excited in acquiring it. Dedication and hard work indeed really paid off and I bought this from Mayer Photo (package includes body kit, 18-55mm lens, neck strap, 1GB CF Card, battery, charger, and the other stuff that should be included in purchasing a digital camera) and have it delivered (free delivery!!!) to our office in Makati so that I won’t have to go there since their store in Quiapo is quite far from my place. I just made some test shots earlier and uploaded it to my computer. The next investment that should be made before the year ends is another lens.
Ever since I was a kid I have fear of heights. Well, not really fear of heights but fear of falling down the stairs that are steep and narrow. For instance, I did not make it to the top at the viewing area of the Chocolate Hills at Bohol. As I was halfway reaching the top, I stopped over at the side. Even though there are railings, I felt that it was not enough to protect me from danger. When we were about to cross the hanging bridge, I said to myself that I will cross it and face that fear. Eventually, I was able to cross it. I was kinda slow in crossing it though but it really did not matter to me. The bridge is sort of slippery and the slippers that I am wearing are really not appropriate for this kind of surface condition anyways. Of course, I’m happy that I was able to cross the bridge without getting any scars hehehe.
Off to Singapore

A month ago, I posted about Yngwie Malmsteen’s concert in Singapore on November 9. I heard from my friend that the ticket costs around $ 70 and I cannot still come even if I’ll be in Singapore in that week to attend a training. It would be a big cost on my part. And as for Mom sponsoring the ticket for me, hehe, I guess that will be just a dream for me. Nevertheless, I was hoping to have a sound trip experience outside the concert area. Hehehe! I did this already in bars that are packed with people because I do not want to suffocate myself and the possibility of having myself injured.
I’ll be there for one week and I’ll be meeting some Filipino bloggers/flickristas that are working there.
