Using Pattern Component

I got this ballpen from Autodesk just last January. Then I suddenly thought of why don’t I try modeling it in Autodesk Inventor. I began first with the main part and used the Revolve feature. Afterwhich, I entered in the assembly environment and continued doing the design there. You’ll notice that there’s a small green material which acts like some sort of grip. What I did is to use Rectangular Pattern first so that I’ll consider every column of that as one component. Then, in the assembly environment, I used pattern component so that I could place it around the pen. Then, I disabled the other occurrences since some of the columns reproduced are not necessary. This is rendered with Inventor Studio.

Hi! Karla,
Bingo! This is what I’ve been telling you. You have this rare talent of being able to rendered 3D images from scratch and I find this one; very cool! With matching color green; my favorite color! And, go ahead with your plan of competing for a design competition, I hope you win this one; I cross my fingers and pray for that one and for you to win! Great job; have a nice day and God bless!
