Mom just texted me this morning and she was asking me what do I think of the Sony DCR DVD803. The Sony DCR DVD803 is a DVD camcorder. You use a blank DVD instead of the usual MiniDV which means that the cost of buying removable storage would be at a lesser price since blank DVD’s are cheap at CD-R King. However, the price of this darling is really expensive. The only thing I do not like about this camcorder is the limited 10x optical zoom and the useless 120x digital zoom. As we all know, digital zoom is just like magnifying the image and cropping it. The quality that will be produced by using this one would be so-so and this is already based from experience in using digital cameras equipped with digital zoom. I advised my Mom that there are other great camcorders from Sony at a more reasonable price.
I’m currently addicted to the band Spoken. I discovered it via Much Music and that is from where I was able to download their album. I suddenly became interested on how they sound like because of the particular description “heavy tones, soaring melodies”. Below is the Track Listing of their album, dubbed as Last Chance to Breathe (their second album), that I downloaded:
1. September
2. Wind In My Sails
3. Love In Return
4. Everything Is Burning
5. 1992
6. Last Chance to Breathe
7. Bitter Taste
8. From the Inside
9. Home
10. 4th Street
11. Time After Time
12. You’re Still Waiting
Spoken consists of Arkansas natives and they are Jef Cunningham (Guitar), Aaron Wiese (Guitar), Matt Baird (Vocals), Brandon Thigpen (Bass) and Ryan Jordan (Drums). Their music is something that would keep your adrenaline high. The song Time After Time is actually the emo version of this Madonna original. And I fell in love with their version of this song. I personally do not like Matchbox20’s version of it since it’s still mellow and his (the vocalist of Matchbox 20) voice irritated me when I heard it.
The name of my computer in the office was changed and then, I thought of using the Content Center of Autodesk Inventor and it won’t open. And it sucks that it would not open at the time that I need it the most. And thus, I searched for the solution at the Support site of Autodesk and found out that my assumptions were correct. The solution to this particular problem is either to reinstall or to repair the Autodesk Inventor. You can do this by accessing the Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. Then, click change under Autodesk Inventor. Then select repair or reinstall. I have tried repair already but it just won’t work. I’ll try my luck again this Monday. This kind of problem should not interfere with my scheduled training for tomorrow.
I got this interesting news from the Sugarfree mailing list. A new show for a particular cable channel is in the works and it will go full blast this coming February. They are looking for music videos that are not shown in MYX or MTV. Even if it’s a “pito-pito” type of music video, they would accept it wholeheartedly unless that they don’t contain content that would endanger the life span of the show (read: MTRCB). Also, the music video should be all-original (band/artist and the song). Aside from the music videos, they are also looking for short films done by students.
Now this is something that I am looking forward to and that is something to deviate from the usual stuff seen on TV.
I’ve found this in the photostream of one of my contacts in Flickr. Although this is a collector’s item as claimed by some people in eBay, it’s really one of the bad things that you cannot imagine that would happen to the President of the Philippines. Just imagine your name was misspelled in a press release whilst your one of the big bosses there. Of course, on the next edition, an erratum and a public apology will be printed. In this case, it’s different. It’s a 100-peso bill. And the one who printed it cannot make a press release saying that the printed 100-peso bills with this serial so and so can still be used for transaction despite of the unintentional attempt of humiliating the President. They won’t be used in transaction but will be sought and kept by the collectors. They’ll do all their best to preserve the 100-peso bill so that it would not have any sort of damage. They could frame the controversial monetary bill and put it in their Priceless Hall of Fame.
Much Music is a Digital Music Blog that offers free music downloads. One particular interesting album that I was able to download is an album containing Coldplay songs played by a string quartet of various artists. My favorites there are Clocks, In my Place, God Put a Smile on Your Face, and Yellow. Hearing their arrangement of the string quartet (violins, viola and cello) is something that will give you the goosebumps. Coldplay should come out with an album (something like the best of Coldplay) plus the string quartet since the album that I downloaded is purely instrumental.
Whenever my Dad travels, he would buy magnets and then when he comes back, he’ll put it on the refrigerator. It’s as if some where-I-have-been type of symbol. Actually, the magnets on the picture are not the only ones on our fridge. There are a lot of them. And the only time that the magnets would deem useful to me (aside from reminding me that we’ve been here and there) is when I put notes on the fridge telling them to wake me up at this time. I would usually have problems in waking up with the alarm clock on my phone because I ignore it unconsciously. I was able to go to all of these places with my Dad way back in High School and I could still recall that we only stayed in Alaska because the plane had a stopover there. In short, we were just stuck in the airport waiting for the time that we need to come back inside the plane. By the way, the magnets are soon turning 10 years old already.
I am now using Wordpress 2.0 (see PTB article). What did I do? I first checked the compatibility of the plugins installed. I saw that Bunny’s Technorati Tags were included in the list but when I went to the page where I downloaded the plugin, it says that there’s an update in which the plugin should work well with version Duke. I deactivated my plugin and replaced the plugin with a newer version. As for the PhotoPress, I could not even find it in the list of plugins that are not compatible with version Duke. Again, I went to the PhotoPress site and found out that there’s a newer version that should work with version Duke. I deactivated the plugin and uploaded the files to my web server and I deleted the old one. Then, I deactivated all the other plugins and proceeded with the steps in upgrading to Wordpress 2.0. After upgrading it successfully, I activated the plugins and it worked well. After exploring the Wordpress 2.0 Dashboard, I could say that it rocks! The only thing that you should know is that you have to register at wordpress.com to be able to use the Askimet plugin since you need an API key for it to work even after activating it.
