Basang Panaginip by Michael is just some of the few blogs using Blogger API that has caught my attention especially in terms of design. His approach in design was very minimal. But what made me notice his blog more is that the comments are modified. Provided that the hosting is not from BlogSpot, then you would not even notice that it is powered by Blogger API.
I’ve been looking for ideas over the net for a costume to wear on our Christmas party. And I end up thinking of Trinity’s The Matrix with an ultra-short trench coat which means, just a blazer. Haha! Then I started thinking of Anime. And all I can think of is Anbu Kakashi of Naruto. I’ve been to Cosplay.com and I’ve seen a lot of neat Naruto Cosplayers there. Of course I won’t get my hair dyed blonde just for that. Maybe if I could find a wig to wear that I could style, then that would be an option. I just have to check our cabinet for old jackets that could be quite similar to the one that Anbu’s wearing. The footwear for Anbu is pretty easy. I have a couple of Birks and I could just tore down a pair of black socks. For the headband, I could just borrow my brother’s headband and improvise the silvery material on it. As for the pants, I should be able to find at least a jogging pants that is colored orange.

When I got home, I saw a FedEx package on top of the table. Then, I saw my name on it and it says that it came from Santa Ana, California. I immediately opened the package and voila, it’s the jump drive that I have won in a raffle draw from Cadalyst. (more…)

In creating this tower of power or the chess piece rather, I have used Autodesk Inventor’s time-saving tool which is the Design Accelerator. I used the Shaft Generator component of Design Accelerator for the basic profile of the chess piece. Afterwards, I applied two revolved cuts for the curved and the tapered cylindrical surfaces of the chess piece. Then, I applied a cut over the top-most surface where a square was drawn and then applied a circular pattern so that I would have 10 occurrences of the cut portion. This was rendered in Inventor Studio using the Pleasant lighting.
Thanks to Mec for the Mr. Brightside MP3. In Rock Star: INXS, Marty Casey sang this song. I was listening to it earlier and it’s one of those good Last Song Syndromes that I’ve had. Good LSS’s are a rare experience for me. And such rare experiences would bring me to Google to search for the chords and lyrics of Mr. Brightside. Luckily, I found one from Ultimate Guitar. I was not able to test these set of chords because I could not find my capo. However, I tried my best to use my pointing finger as a capo to check if it sounds alike Mr. Brightside. By the way, a certain part of this song reminds me of a certain Dashboard Confessional song (not the sound but more on the message of the song). Read more for the lyrics and chords. (more…)
It happened this morning. I just got in the office. Turned on my computer and punched my time card. Then, when I was about to sit down…
“Houston, we have a problem”
Yes, a brownout occurred earlier. I had my day all planned out and it is because of those power interruptions that the word “petiks” was introduced. I have to finish the slides and the training materials and lo and behold, I cannot start anything because of that power interruption. It’s like a surprise birthday party where the candles and the gifts wrapped in paper that are waiting to be thrown away and the food are the only ones missing.
Good thing is that the power resumed at 9am because I do not want to be there just sitting around counting the minutes until the sound from the generator (which is only used for the lights and the elevator in the building) transformed into silence.
I do not know the reason for the occurrence of the power interruption in Makati. Was it something related to politics? I hope not. It would be a pretty childish way I tell you.
Dad just bought me a Vivitar VPT-1200 Tripod which is his gift for me this Christmas. It does not have remote control but who cares? Manual operation of the tripod is just fine for me. It still serves its purpose. Read more for the specifications of this tripod. (more…)
If it weren’t for a representative from the Questex Media group, who sent me an e-mail awhile ago, I would not have known that I won a Lexar 256 MB Jump Drive. The winners are selected through random drawing which is synonymous to raffle draws. I’m one of the lucky winners. Hehehe! The question that I am posing now is this, “When shall I get it?” The Jump Drive will be coming from USA by the way.
