Attempting to SmileIt’s Norman’s birthday today! I just remembered that last year, he celebrated his birthday at Millenia (which is now closed) at Kamuning, Quezon City. Normz is Paramita’s guitarist. I met Normz in an Undernet IRC channel for Imago listers. Then, I met him personally when they had a gig (he was still with Silent Sanctuary then as the guitarist and lead vocals) at Dome Cafe. They played with Nityalila (where Ria of Paramita used to play percussions for her) and with Joey Ayala. It was an event produced by MTV Ink. After which, he became one of my Starbucks Taft buddies (the rest of the gang includes Paul the Fly-including some of his friends, Hazel, Pam and Lee).

Round Eyeglass Kape is a house for all art disciplines according to its yahoogroups main page. It is located in front of Starbucks Adriatico in Malate. For those who loves coffee and the movies you might be interested to go there to catch an event from Blacksoup Productions. The event will be something like that of a film showing.

Movies that will be shown are (from November 15 to 20):

[x] Arturo Luz directed by Ricky Orellana
[x] Bukan: a 10 minute animation by Ellen Ramos

Then, Movies on Making Movies by Jon Red presents:

    [x] Anak ng Tinapa
[x] Cut (full length silent film) starring Joel Torre, Jao Mapa and Shereen Ladera

Entrance is PhP 60 and it comes with a free drink.

For those who have tried ripping and or played their music CDs from Sony BMG (purchased since March 2005), there might be rootkits hiding inside your computer. If that’s the case, then you must remove the rootkit to ensure protection. Then, just do not play your music CDs on your computer.

Constantine MaroulisWho the hell is Betty? I am not actually saying for you to pray for the soul of Betty but for all American Idol fans or fans of Constantine Maroulis in particular, you’ll surely know that it’s his band. He’ll be in the Philippines. He’ll be performing on November 17, 8pm at Greenbelt 3 Park. On November 18, 6pm, he will be at Alabang Town Center. Cebu-based fans may also catch him perform on November 19, 8pm at the Ayala Center there. Pray for the Soul of Betty is Constantine Maroulis on vocals, Joao Joya on guitars, Taylor C.R. on bass and Hamboussi on drums. By the way, check out the music section of your site and you’ll see that they are selling two versions of their CD. One is the uncut version (a limited edition CD) with the warning PG: Explicit Lyrics while the other one is the censored version. Thanks to Rori for the correction! =)

Nobody Said it was Easy is the blog of my friend Lee (bassist of Mayonaisse). Go and check out her blog. It’s really funny. She posted some edited pics on Photoshop and she made it seem to look like a movie poster. It was so cool. It’s title is I’m Dying to Meet You and it. It was written with blood and the background is a grave. Hahaha! This is something like a post-halloween entry special. And then she made a comics style of her conversation with her friend using photos taken which reminds me of the Hello Garci comics that circulated on the internet.

iPon Nano

Here’s a picture of a rendered assembly of iPod Nano that I did in Autodesk Inventor. I used the assembly-centric method (otherwise known as the top-down assembly). I started first with the blue cover on top. In reality, there are only two colors available for iPod Nano and those are black and white. Actually, I was supposed to use the color white but when I tried rendering it in Autodesk Inventor, I had problems in creating a lighting that would really show the “whiteness” of the cover. Then, I made the LCD screen where I didn’t chose to put a decal on it. Afterwards, I made the click wheel. Those with the Play/Pause, Forward to one track, and reverse to one track signs are created using the Extrude feature. As for the menu, I used the Emboss feature of Autodesk Inventor. At first, I attempted creating a sketch on the top surface of the clickwheel where the text MENU is placed. Then, I started to experience problems when I tried to click on the sketch after clicking Emboss. What happened is that the top face of the click wheel was being highlighted instead of the sketch containing the text. (more…)

Can I just say Eeew-VAT instead of E-VAT? By just saying E-VAT and or even by just hearing makes me sick. Its as if I said a name that should not be told. I just felt its implication when I bought some blank CD-Rs at CD-R king and a double disc case for backing up some files here at home. Before, they do not have the additional 10 percent of the price. Now, they have implemented it already. Next year, it will be up by 12 percent. They’re saying that the implications of this ugh, E-VAT are very good and the effects are for long-term. It’s just another one of those mumbo-jumbo-their-pocket schemes instead of a the-country-will-benefit-scheme. What they should do is to be efficient in their tax collection from the ala Houdini tax-evading citizens and to keep away from being hypnotized by greed and power so as to be sure that our taxes really go back to us and also to those we are indebted to. Hell month has just started. What’s next? A 100-degree higher hell month? I hope not.

Bday Boys

Justin and Lance turned five today! They had a little party at their school (a new school they just transferred to this school year) just like last year. Of course my brother bought two cakes for them since they are not in the same class. There’s a rule that twins cannot belong in one class. Thus, he bought a Batman cake for Justin (which is evident in last year’s invitation that I made) and a Superman birthday cake for Lance (since he now fancies being a superhero with a cape like Justin). The goodie bags for their classmates were treats from the Halloween Party that Lance and Justin attended wherein they wore the costumes as shown in the above picture. Too bad I was not able to attend their birthday party in their school since I have work to attend to.
