My high school friend and her soon-to-be-husband indeed kissed dating goodbye. I’m quite sure that she told me about her suitors way back in college that she turned down. Also, I’ve never heard of her speaking about a suitor the last time we saw each other (which is about 2 or 3 months ago). And now, I got a phone call this morning from her inviting me to her upcoming wedding. At first, I thought it was a joke for I haven’t heard anything from her about having a boyfriend or getting engaged. It was a big surprise for me and for our whole batch as well. Nevertheless, congratulations to my friend Ruth Jade and cheers to the soon-to-be-wedded couple.

On our small chit-chat over the phone, she told me that the lucky guy is her church-mate. Ruth Jade and her soon-to-be husband are both Mormons. If you happen to see a Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints Church, that’s where they held their Sunday Mass. I wonder how would RJ look like in her wedding gown. Hehe! Thus, I should bring my camera there so that I could also share it with our other batchmates as well.

I do not watch TV that much. Before, I used to have a Monday to Friday lunchtime schedule and a 4:30pm schedule when I was still in my Eat Bulaga and Ang TV fever. Then, there came my 5:30pm habit where I watch Balitang K because of the information that I get there. When we had Cable TV, I watched a lot of Discovery Channel where I was made to think if I should be a medical detective or an engineer. When Survivor was shown on TV, I became hooked into it but the following for the show did not last. When I heard of RockStar: INXS, I immediately become glued to the TV screen. Now, everywhere I go, the show that has been speaked of almost every person I know is Pinoy Big Brother which is a franchise of America’s Big Brother. Thus, they get their income from advertising, from the text votes and from the 24-hour subscription in which the images of unexpectedly wild PBB participants were being forwarded from one e-group to another. PBB has also been a discussion in Y!Speak last night. They were arguing if PBB should be discontinued or not. Some have commented that the show provides the audience for social analysis and for understanding human behavior. Others were not in favor of the show because of the effect that it could bring to the children. However, the PRO-PBB team argued that there’s such thing called as Parental Guidance.

And so, after hearing about PBB almost the rest of the day yesterday, I expected that I won’t be hearing much of it. Well, I was wrong. The publicity stint of PBB over the weekend has finally gotten in the office. I rarely hear my officemates talk about PBB. Now, they were talking about it just this morning. I was just hearing names of Cass, Raquel and JB. PBB101 Module anyone?

What is cheaper than Jollibee or McDonald’s?

What is found on almost every sidestreet of Makati?

Well, I did not bring packed lunch to work for this day because I want to try the food at JolliJeep. I just had a 35-Peso meal which includes a rice, and a serving of pork with tofu. Of course, the free water in the pantry does not count in the 35-peso budget meal.

This is like going back to college days where we’d go to Food Street (also known as Agno) and purchase our budget meals that range from 35 pesos to 65 pesos. Well, it is still more expensive than what the JolliJeep offers.

I watched Dubai this afternoon and the movie stars Aga Muhlach, John Lloyd Cruz and Claudine Barretto. The movie started with Aga Muhlach riding on his pick-up and singing Alapaap by Eraserheads. I was also reminded by a similar scene from a different movie where Eric Quizon and Giselle Toengi is on the car while Alapaap is playing. Star Cinema seems to have a big budget and they sure have a lot of “advertisers” in this film as shown by the short close-up shots of Bobson Jeans, SafeGuard, and others. Aga works for a courier company in Dubai. He sent money to John Lloyd so that they could be together again in Dubai. They had dreamed once in their childhood days that they would go to Canada. When John Lloyd was wandering around Dubai, he was able to meet Claudine who happen to be Aga’s ex-girlfriend. Then, things became a lot more complicated when John Lloyd began dating Claudine. And even became more complicated when Claudine became pregnant with John Lloyd. However, Claudine still loves Aga even though he’s very much enjoying his bachelor days. Claudine decided to go home in the Philippines instead of being imprisoned at Dubai for getting pregnant without getting married.
