Hello GarciI got home last night with this book found on my study table. My Dad got another complimentary copy from PCIJ. The book that he just received recently is Hello Garci? Hello Maam: Political Humor in the Cellphone Age. I read it and it was an awesome compilation of political satire that first spread electronically. Some of the content were spread through e-mails and the others were spread through SMS. Retzwerx is the only blogger that I’m familiar with who contributed in this compilation. His poop-to-graphs have never ceased to amaze me. Technology has indeed changed the way people communicate. In fact, I saw in ABS-CBN News that the number of blogs has grown tremendously. This October, they were able to show that there are about 2,000 blogs. I hope they have not included splogs and inactive blogs as well.

Yoda and Superman

These are the toys of my nephews Justin and Lance. They have always liked Yoda and Superman. Yoda has always been their favorite Star Wars character while Superman is their favorite caped-flying superhero. They have always referred to Yoda as “cute”. Superman became their favorite after being hooked into watching the animated series of The Justice League. However, before Superman, Spiderman and Batman were their favorites. They have always mimicked Spiderman’s web-shooting action. And even their imitation of the scene where Spiderman stops the train. Of course, their version is located in a grocery where the shopping cart is the train and both or either one of them is Spiderman. Now, they want to become a yoyo superhero just like their father after seeing him doing some tricks of Walking the Dog and Around the World. On the contrary, the string of the yoyo is too long for them. Hehe!

New Kids on The BlogI admit it. I was a New Kids on the Block junkie. New Kids on the Block were the one of the first modern-day boy bands. We had a New Kids on the Block cassette tape and I played the tape and sang with it long time ago. I even tried to mimic their Step by Step dance moves. New Kids on the Block is comprised of Jordan Knight (pursued a solo career), Jonathan Knight (out of the music and entertainment scene), Joe McIntyre (who pursued a solo career and an acting career in theater), Donnie Wahlberg (became a TV actor), and Danny Wood (co-producer of Joe McIntyre’s album). You see, boybands come and go. Boy bands are not here to stay forever. They’ll disband sooner or later. They will either pursue a solo career which translates to big bucks or they’ll just want to make their lives private.

I just met the vocalist of Milk and Money just this morning who happens to be working in a company that’s connected with the one I am currently working for. You see, my line of work right now does not keep me in front of the computer monitor for straight five days. Going back, Milk and Money was in the RX Band Breakout. I was able to recall that they performed together with Matilda who happens to be my friend. Aside from the RX Band Breakout, they also performed together for the Global Battle of the Bands. It was just really amazing to encounter someone who has a band and yet I’m even not in a gig of some sort.

Well, this is not the first time that I have encountered such. When I was at Ortigas last week for field work, I bumped into my friend from our parish whom I haven’t seen for the longest time. Then, as we were about to step out of the building, I also bumped into to my long-time-no-see friend Rhoda who is also a blogger. The funny thing is that both of my friends are working in the same company and has the same shift. Hmmm… could they be in the same account together? Hehehe!

My usual routine after a day’s work is eat dinner, log-in to the internet, check my mail, and then blog, then blog-hop. It has been like this ever since especially if I do not have plans of being a homebody. I just checked my mail and here are some tidbits that I can share with you:

Global Battle of the Bands Coverage
Charms (the vocalist of Matilda) sent through the Matilda YahooGroups that the Global Battle of the Bands TV coverage will be airing on Friday at 10:30pm. Actually, it was a replay since the premiere telecast of the coverage was just yesterday.

Paramita’s New Management
Paramita is now under the Terno Records Management Group. The said group also handles Radioactive Sago Project. If you want to book them, just contact Toti Dalmacion at 0917-
5345404 / 844-4656.

After eating dinner at Kitchen where the spoons are the size of your typical serving spoon, we had a sugar rush at Cafe Breton. My brother and my sister tried the crepe with butter and sugar. I tried La Pinay which consists of ripe mango, nutella, and vanilla ice cream. It was a mortal sin to eat desert but who cares, it’s seldom that I’d go and eat out with them. Mom is even planning to go back there for a ham, cheese and tomatoes crepe. Next time that I’ll be back there, I’ll try the create-your-own crepe where I could choose what fruits, spread, syrup or whatsoever.

The other day, my Dad has been asking me if there’s such thing as a DVD recorder/player. It looks like that Samsung Electronics has granted his wishes. Samsung has announced the DVD Twintray DVD recorder. This will be indeed useful for transferring videos from a camcorder to the DVD recorder. I bet this will have a sky-high price unless other companies in the consumer electronics industry will introduce competition.

Thanks to Toni, who belongs to Blogkadahan, for suggesting a fairly interesting site to visit. It’s a StripGenerator where it’s interface is designed in Macromedia Flash. It allows you to drag and drop characters, objects and bubbles. The generated comic strip is in Flash format. I just made a screen capture of the comic strip since it seems that there are really a lot of people trying it out. You may view mine also at this page.
