As the 19,190th petitioner that signed up as of July 8, 2005, I invite everyone of you to sign the petition at theGMA Resign Now website. Her statement that she indeed called up Garcillano is already enough reason for her to step down. It’s very unethical for an electoral candidate to call a COMELEC commissioner. What she did has earned her distrust from the public. As what we have experienced before, impeachment procedures would take a considerable amount of time. Thus, impeachment is not an option. She should resign now and even though her successor, VP Noli de Castro, is also part of the administration and does not have much experience, we would have no other option but just to follow what the Philippine Constitution says. If Noli will become the President, let’s just give him a fair chance.

While it is true that we all want to get this over with as fast as we can, I believe that GMA will simply not resign. Her stubborness and greed for power, as well as love for self, overpowers her love for country.

While I join our countrymen in this petition to ASK her to resign, we should also keep on reminding her that should she wish to take it the hard way, our countrymen will be be watching every step of the impeachment process and we will be watching her as well.

And while Noli De Castro isn’t exactly what we are looking for in a president, we have to recognize that we, or at least the majority, put him there, and we knew at the time of the election, or at least those who voted for him, that there is the possibility that he might assume the presidency in the event that the elected president resigns or is removed from office.

Indeed Nikko, GMA is so stubborn. She likes the due process. Its long. Maybe she wants the title of the first female president tried for impeachment. Maybe she’d really love to see her name in the future Philippine history books. Greed for money and power has taken over her.

the impeachment will not only lengthen her presidency but will also make her manipulate the so called “due process”. kaya nga mas gusto niya yun e.
